Natalie's presentation at the Aqua Summit 08 was enlightening. Her passion was contagious as well as making it relevant "to all". It transfers to all aspects of a person's life and further helps people in their endeavours. I left feeling re-ignited. Thank you Natalie for a great presentation.
Breakthrough delivered a new element of professionalism into our program in 2007 / 2008. Having each athlete on a precise individualised program allowed athletes to focus on their own areas of improvement to maximise their playing ability. The dedication and preparation Breakthrough showed exceeded our expectations and the online training diary was the perfect tool to maintain communication at all times. Their knowledge and thoroughness was exceptional and would highly recommend them to anyone!
My Women's Football (Soccer) squad recently had the pleasure of a motivational speaking session with Natalie Atkinson from Breakthrough Sports. Natalie visited our club and addressed and interacted with our VWPL ( Women's Premier League) players for almost two hours which they found most enlightening . The players remarked on several fascinating principles that Natalie had brought to the discussion and for sometime after were quoting different motivational ideas and messages she had instilled into them. My players and I found the experience well worth while and will be requiring Natalie's inspiration in season 2008.

Over the past 2 years I have been involved with the Montmorency Football Club. After spending 25 years associated with the AFL competition, the first thing we needed was a more professional approach to Training. This covered not only the physical aspect of preparing yourself for a sport that is demanding, it also covered a high level of attention to warming up, cooling down, injury management, rehabilitation and mental application.
For a district team to take on such a mind shift we needed someone who had a passion for overall fitness. We needed someone who could operate with very high standard who would raise the expectation throughout the club. Alan took this job on and did this to a level that even exceeded my expectation.
He is thorough and very detailed in his approach; this was also done with a high degree of visibility to every one on our match committee. We were able to remain competitive against more talented teams by the sheer fact we had a fitness base that enables our players to over perform and maintain constant pressure over the full duration of any game. When I looked back at our statistics over the 2 years our second half was 30% better than our opposition with our last quarter being our most productive on the score board.
I have no doubt that this was directly due to the work Alan put in with our group.
I think the fitness analysis session was fantastic the squad gave back a lot positive feedback. I was really impressed with what was available and the way the session was conducted, as a coach to have this technology available to club athletes is just fantastic. For my squad I can now have some data to work with and plan future programs to improve deficiencies in each athlete. It also gives the athlete information that they can understand and assist in reaching there goals.
I have worked with both Alan and Natalie over the last 6 years through their personal training business. During this time I have built up a strong relationship with them and am extremely confident in their professionalism, knowledge and ability to tailor programs to the individual within a group structure. I appreciate their attention to detail and ability to adapt training programs to meet each individuals needs. They have the natural ability to drive athlete to achieve beyond they expectation
Due to this I have actively referred many clients to their programs and have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them to any organisation. In fact I know they would prove an asset to any team or sporting program.
Breakthrough sports conducted specific fitness testing for our basketball team. They were extremely professional and were very efficient in their testing and also providing each individual with results. Alan and Natalie are thorough professionals, their knowledge and personalities combined get the best out of every team and individual. As an Occupational therapist and manager I can assure you their rehabilitation knowledge and sport assessments are of a high quality. I have now attended 2 Junior Speed and Conditioning Programs and it has really helped me improve my basketball. I'm jumping higher for rebounds, I'm moving around the court quicker, my fitness has improved and its fun! The electronic equipment is great because it records my times and I can see my improvements
After a break from sports (previous representative softball player) I had kids and wanted to get back into shape. I started training with Nat in 2003 and at first I couldn’t even run 40metres. Much has happened from then on – I lost 18kg’s, took up running (something I thought I would never do), I became fit, strong, healthy. Last year I successfully completed a full marathon and now I am a personal trainer running my own successful business. I know that using the power of your mind makes all the difference all you have to do is learn how to use it!
I have been doing this program for 4 months and I have shown heaps of improvement. It has helped my rebounding, speed, endurance, running and strength. I enjoy the mix of exercise and running programs. The 1 on 1 with Alan has helped me a lot. Over all I am very happy.
I would just like to say thankyou to Alan and Nat for their dedication and passion towards helping the Dandenong Rangers achieve their full potential in the 2007/08 season. I believe that without the team at Breakthrough Sports, we would not have been as successful throughout the year and they were a huge part of the encouraging entourage that allowed us to do so
